Retaining Walls

🏗️ Ever wondered about those sturdy walls you see on construction sites? Let’s talk about retaining walls and why they’re crucial in earthworks! 🌱

As the name suggests, retaining walls are built to retain soil and maintain structural integrity. We typically use them in two scenarios: when cutting into a property’s soil ⛰️ or when filling a property with soil 🏔️. These walls are essential for creating flat building surfaces while preserving the integrity of neighbouring properties.

For instance, when we need to level a sloped site, a retaining wall helps keep the neighbouring property’s soil in place. Conversely, when building up a block, retaining walls prevent the added soil from spilling onto adjacent land. 🏡

Whether we’re carving into a hillside or building up a level surface, retaining walls are the silent guardians that make safe, stable construction possible. 💪
